Synopsis: Every year, Native communities across North America gather on the Pow Wow Trail to celebrate culture, connection, and community, and there is a whole lot of WOW in every single one.
Now, viewers are invited along for the ride in The Pow Wow Trail, a vibrant road trip series following the unforgettable Anaquod family as they journey across the Northeastern Canadian Pow Wow circuit. From small rural grounds to bustling urban celebrations, each stop is filled with music, dance, laughter, and the powerful spirit of Native joy.
Our guides are the Anaquods themselves, each with their own unique voice, style, and plenty to say straight to camera. Think Modern Family meets a feel good road trip adventure, with heart, humor, and plenty of playful family chaos along the way.
This year’s journey carries special meaning. After the passing of beloved Nookoom, Grandma left behind her cherished “Pow Wow Trail Map,” which she always called her treasure map. Marked with the Pow Wows she hoped her family would attend, each destination includes a riddle to solve and the promise of a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.
As the Anaquods follow Nookoom’s clues, the road trip becomes more than just miles traveled. It is a scavenger hunt through culture and memory. Along the way, they reconnect with their heritage, grow as artists, strengthen their family bonds, and embrace the beauty and diversity of Native communities across breathtaking landscapes.
The Pow Wow Trail is a joyful, one of a kind celebration of Native North America, its families, its artists, and the powerful traditions that bring people together. Get ready for a series that is truly Pow Wow Powerful and absolutely Pow Wow Wonderful.

"I imagine The Pow Wow Trail being a really touching and beautiful tribute to Native America and the contributions we have made and continue to make across the country.
I don't think I’ve seen anything like it from this perspective, and I think it could be really special!
There has been so much appropriation of our image and our languages. You can see things changing slowly, but there is still a lot of work to do.
Let us tell our stories. Support us. Finance our projects. Trust us. Train us. Share resources. Too many non-Indigenous people think they are doing us a favor by telling our stories. But our narrative won’t change until it is told authentically through our lens." - Sarah Podemski
